  Jim Davis, Owner/Operator

2015 KRA Restaurateur of the Year

Jim Davis' career in the hospitality industry started across the pond in London, England as a bartender in some of the city's most exclusive nightclubs.  This experience quickly developed his passion for cocktails and mixology which eventually lead him into a restaurant management career.  While still in England, Jim successfully operated his own restaurant for 4 years, giving him a small glimpse of the success that was yet to come.

Jim met Debbie in Orlando, Fl. and in 1993 they were married and he moved to the United States. He began his career stateside with Walt Disney World in Orlando, FL. The next step in his career took him to management positions with Planet Hollywood and Bahama Breeze.

From there Jim began his journey with Cameron Mitchell Restaurants (2001) as the General Manager of Martini Italian Bistro here in Louisville, KY and later became an Operating Partner. In 2006, he was honored as "GM of the Year" by Cameron Mitchell for his distinguished  leadership and outstanding growth in sales.  In 2011, Jim was given the exclusive opportunity to buy Martini Italian Bistro, now making it a locally owned and operated restaurant.  Under Jim's remarkable leadership, he has continued to successfully grow and expand the Martini brand as a locally owned leader in the dining community. Most recently, he received the distinguished honor of becoming the "Restaurateur of the Year" as awarded by the Kentucky Restaurant Association.

Jim also volunteers his time as a board member for "Taste of Derby" Festival to help Dare to Care and, Apron, Inc. a non-profit organization that helps employees of independent restaurants who are in financial stress.

"I'm always striving to make Martini Italian Bistro a restaurant of distinction with a family atmosphere with a goal to make it the best place to work.  This, in turn trickles down to the guests which I want to be raving fans of everything we do."
